Unhappy NI Battery Bug

Hey everyone,

I have been so kind to search the forum for this but didn't find the answer.

I have just installed the NI Battery Drum Sampler and have a problem with it. I uploaded a sample here;

Sample Klick on the play button under the image of the Monitor.

As you can hear there is a slight popping every now and then with something as simple as a BD 4/4 loop. I'v tried setting my ASIO settings back to 33kHz to match the sample's bitrate and that's not the problem. I'v tried shortening the VEL ENV to ensure the samples aren't overlapping too and that doesn't help. My computer speed can't be the problem either.

Can anybody help?

kind regards,

Charlie Darwin

Music is as universal to people as breathing. We've probably been at it since before we even started talking. Immaging two cavemen smashing away at a peace of flint to make a spearhead. It wouldn't take long for them to learn te synchronise the sound. And there you have it, the words first percussive band.

Music has survived wars, famines, the plague and many other things and has evolved with man across many cultures. Dance music is just the next step in the evolutionary chain. My guess is that it will probably be with us untill we are extinced.

it has to be your latency settings. is the pop just from battery, and how are you triggering battery, via piano roll?

that can't be latency if he's recored it (or have you deliberalty addedthe click to the sample ???)

if the click isn't in the sample or when playback without battery then it's battery.

No, well if you listen closely the click isn't regular, and has nothing to do with the sample. It's controlled by the piano roll. All it is is a clean 4/4 BD loop nothing else, no EQ, no effects, no comp, no added percs. I checked if it was clipping and no it isn't, damn this is a big problem cos I need the Battery for some Ideas I have in mind. I'm looking for Battery 2 right now, maybe in that one the bug is fixed. If i'm not mistaken Battery 1 is quite old and probably not all that good anyway. I'm using it with SX2.

And the pop is just on Battery, nothing else. All VSTi's run smoothely and so does my audio sequencing. I'll check my ASIO latency and memory block settings, but they'v never given problems before.

kind regards,

Charlie Darwin

Well, I fixed it. Installed Battery 2 and it's fine.
