Splitting mp3 sets

I'm familiar with the use of cue sheets, markers etc. But here's my question...

I have a car mp3 player that I listen to mixed sets on. Cue sheets are fine when burning audio CDs and as far as I understand markers are fairly specific to the program used to create the, so can only be burned with those programs. The only one I have encountered so far is Soundfprge which only offers a simple audio CD burning option.

The only option I seem to have is to physically split the mp3 sets into separate files for each track, but this is prone to gaps, pops and clicks so I was wondering what the solution was.

Any help appreciated.

If I understood your question correctly, you can split a long file into shorter tracks very easily in Nero.

Just double click the file and select "Indexes, Limits, Split" and away you go.

Okay, to explain a bit better...

I want to be able to store loads of sets on data CDs playable on my PC or my car mp3 player that are divided into tracks so they can be skiiped - just like a conventional audio CD. I know this is less of an issue whilst playing these data CDs on the PC because there are plugins for apps like Winamp that allow it to recognise cue files no problem. However I'm pretty sure my car mp3 player will not recognise cue sheets. So I was wondering what my options were. So far I've just been physically splitting them, but as I said this is less than ideal since there are gaps between the tracks.

Burn using the cue file..

Right click cue file, open with nero..

will chop tracks while burning.

No, that will burn as an audio CD. He wants to burn a data CD, so that he can store the sets in MP3 format but have the tracks split up.

I'm also wondering how to do this, since I just put an MP3 deck in my car recently
