[Epic Dark Trance] Cybernetika - Dawn over Paradise (192 kbps, full)

Hi tranceaddicts!
Here is another new tune for you. This time I tried a more "regular" Trance tune, with a very dark, dramatic and epic feeling. The track is long, ever changing, with some symphonic elements such as strings and a piano, but it has some elements of Goa too. All those of you who liked my tune "Collective" should check this one out.

Length: 12:24
Filesize: ~17 MB
Bitrate: 192kbps
Equipment used: FL Studio 5, ReFX Vanguard, Linplug Albino 2, Spectrasonics Atmosphere, rgc z3ta+, etc...

The link:
http://www.cybernetika.de/cyberneti...er_paradise.mp3

Enjoy, feedback appreciated

As I listen:

Very smooth element transitioning in the intro; snare roll could be a tad less loud, or use something else; love the percussion!; don't particularly enjoy the bass: introduce it better to change that, and perhaps add a small amount of delay or chorus; working better at 2:15; good ambiance created with your background atmos pad and the subtle fx stabs; bass could be awesomer I think; bring in that lead synth a little more subtley, or in a cooler way; 3:09 nice; 3:40 that lead is very shrill... bubbly is a-ok, but EQ it so the high-frequency don't pierce quite so much; transition into the bridge is a little sudden; cool pianos, random notes, and sounding rather muffled; 4:40 good pad, think the piano notes are still too random and need structure; snare roll, bleh; 5:08, beautiful... I *LOVE* talking robot synths, and you do it well.. capitalize on this strength! ; bass might be too loud still and just not gluing it all together; synth works well with the robots, and i'm really enjoying them as they get more intense!; 6:24, it's really going nicely now.. the elements are all working better, though the bass needs tweaked.. did i mention that yet? (teasing); the lead that comes in seems a bit fast, and perhaps hinting at it subtely before bringing it in would acquaint the listen more with its sound; pianos aren't adding to the track at this point, but perhaps another instrument with similar notes might; 8:12 nice change of pace, piano notes too random and muffled; nice transition with this new synth, it sounds good, and i like the filtering; robots sound cool with this synth, though their frequencies are clashing: automate an EQ here to fix and make them pop into their own frequencies; 10:00, the track isn't doing anything really new at this point and probably could use some silence to create some tension; EQ is needed at 10:31, too much going on; I have a feeling this piano might sound better if you accentuated certain notes, and made it a tad slower; track ends quickly, i like the background ambiance in the ending, but it might make mixing out of the track a bit tricky.

overall: your drums and percs are sometimes lost in the loudness of the synth bass and leads/pianos. Fix. Less is more sometimes.

And there you have it... I tried to be comprehensive since no one responded yet to this, for some reason. Capitalize on your strengths; outrun your limitations.

Cheers and thanks for sharing the track.

Wow, DJ Shibby, thats what I call feedback

Thanks a lot mate!

I still have some trouble with getting the bassline in the mix, cause its a very high one. Maybe I will shorten the notes a little.

Otherwise, thanks again for your detailed reply, that really helps me with it

nice deep intro- lovin the bassline here. i dont really like the 303 sounding synth in the background, the louder one that comes in @ 3min is alright but i think its a bit too sharp. Piano is wicked and experimental sounding with nice progression though i could use some techy + mid fx through that part to keep things interesting. i really like what you did after the piano part, wicked melody with goa-ish synths that rock. tho harmony progression is a bit inconsistent with the main melody and kinda drives off into its own tangents. Overall this is a journey of a track that takes you to different places. @ 7min it gets a bit chaotic with the array of layers, but thats peak for ya
synth that comes in @ 8:40 is wicked- use it more often.

-very nice intro, reminds me of the Solaris soundtrack...
-great atmosphere around 1:00
-i personally don´t like the bass, it´s too dry - perhaps try to put some delay on it
-miss a transition before the piano comes in... but maybe it was your intention
-the random piano fits into the track - cool!
-main part: yes, journey is the right word - it could be a little more remarkable
-like the suddenly break @ 8:11

To be honest, i miss the great atmosphere you built up in the beginning - i think the mainpart + outro could be more atmospheric...

Cheers S-Tune

Yeah very nice. First thing I noticed was the nice stereo spread this track has got. Straight from the start, it has a nice sense of depth to the elements.

Not a fan of that synth at 2.40 to be honest. That sound has been used a lot in tracks I feel, esp early goa ones. Ah well, personal taste...

Percussion is very nice, and I really like the bassline actually. Nice and in your face. I could well imagine some HPF sweeps on the buildups. They work very well on pitched bases like that. I think the mids need more compression though. They sort of bleep at you near the end of the track. I think it could also do with a sub-bass.

Piano is kinda wierd in the middle... didnt really expect that either.

Melody at 6.00 is kinda uplifting..lol. Crazy. This is kinda like a melodic track that you've taken and mutated into something dark and evil... I really like it.

6.55... hmm... supersawish type sound doesnt really do it for me. Longer attack on it maybe might reduce that stabbing sort of sound. Its kind of here nor there at the moment.

Really liked this one dude... full of new ideas from you. Not everything works to be honest, but its a very original piece... well done.

The chopping pads and atmosphere introduced from the beginning is indeed phenominal and enchanting in a dark way.

The bass is a tad too saturated in a higher bass-freq. I'm not sure why, but it's not really my thing. I really am hoping that it could sound a tad deeper.

As for it sounding Epic, I have to agree that it's mutated -- which is a good thing. Cybernetica's style is easily apparent, but it's interesting reading the subtle Goa elements that are used in the place of standard epic-synths and melodies.

Though I miss the intro as well, I think that means the track is telling a story.

The piano is also featuring some strange experimental issues. It doesn't seem to sit in the right place in the mix without some sort of clipping, and it's rythmic strumming doesn't sound all that appealing to me. The rythmic originality of the piano line could be my fault for not being willing to sacrifice my musical comfort zones for it's message. However, I was dissapointed to find that it silenced immediately after the breakdown - that it could have evolved into something more rythmically satisfying.

This track after the piano kinda reminds me a tad of a favorite of mine by you: "Lifecode" in general hypnotic beauty, not structure.

The supersawish sound worked for me. It had some power without sacrificing the track's insanity. THe piano seemed kinda pushed in there, but again, it's the experimental nature that I should be more in tune with here. The piano has some additional appeal to me, since I somehow came to know what I should be expecting from it -- I dunno if that's good or bad. Breakbeat works.

The lead after the piano was silenced the second time makes me want to play a video game. Some sort of darkened, fast-paced world...

The piano has sunk it's teeth into the track once again for the last time. I'm not sure... it seems like a good idea, just could be executed even better.

Goa-Epic, maybe you are starting a new genre ! Thanks for the fun listen.

Doom, this is gotta be used to discripe this piece, DOOM. ok that was the intro damn I wonder what is next...

Pads of final darkness...

Blazing requiem of an unending dream...

The kick drum is good... the bass is good... you like the deepness to fill my lower soul, however my higher spirit feels this music, its in my head rather then in my gut. It's visual and arual. I know what you need to do, the is a enough room left in your track to increase the power of you kick drum, make it phat. Play it so loud that nobody can sleep.

Tis a good piece of music, I just think your kick drum needs to destroy hearts.

Thanks for sharing.

At first impression I'd say this definately sounds different from your typical work especially in the percussions departement. Otherwise it sounds slightly more melodic and more "mid-range" as opposed to the usual high-pitched stuff.

Kick feels pretty weak when it comes in.

I like the bass though.

Not really sure I like the percs. Can't really point out what's wrong with them exactly though.

Pads and gates are very good. They add alot of atmosphere to the track.

Piano was too random

Nice rythmic elements at around 6:00

Overall, I can't say I'm a big fan of this track (in contrast with your previous work). I felt that it lacked some energy and punch. didn't really like the piano either. On the plus side, I liked the synth work, especially towards the end of the track. Some good ideas in there.

Thanks for the comment Aquarian.

About the piano, well, actually I tried a kinda complex melody. It was not supposed to be that random sounding. Think I gotta work on it a little
