I wanna change the bank account that my insurance company takes money out of and the lady said send her a voided check from the new bank.



So I play it smooth like the mack I am and say, "yea, no problem, i'll get right on that and have it out"



but now I am all like, , wtf is a voided check.


plz help.

just write "VOID" across it in big letters so no one can write anythin on it and cash it

they probably just need proof of your acct/routing #

tear it into 249 pieces... voided

write VOID on it in big ol' letters

what myra said but make sure you do it so that it copies to the back paper...so you can keep track of the # just in case.

There's actually a loophole that lets you cash most checks that are supposed to be voided, but I can't remember the details of it off the top of my head. I doubt your insurance company is trying to scam you though, so I wouldn't worry too much.
