For me it has to be Tiesto. His music is always cutting edge and his sound is always so fresh. There is a reason that he has been the #1 DJ in the world and should still be there this year!!!
I just wanted to get everyone else's opinion on the subject!

Tiesto is a bastard. Paul van Dyk is god.
On the other hand.
Paul van Dyk eats babies. Tiesto is the greatest DJ on the planet.
I'm going with PvD. I've been hearing his stuff lately and found it to be a nice change of pace and less of a general stale feeling compared to Tiesto in the last while.

Glad you asked the question! Actually i don't think anyone can say who's better. Can anyone forget the single flight643 ? how many of PVD's fans went crazy to that tune? what about for an angel I think even those who are in love with Tiesto would have screamed when hearing this song! I just find tiesto's songs very electronic whereas PVD's are very emotional. Since I am an electomotional person :P i would consider both! They do both deserve every bit of respect and admiration, they are in other words Gods of this industry and I believe these two along with AVB would take trance music to a much higher level, a level so unreachable for all other artists (eventhough there are brilliant artists out there).
Cheers

Tiesto gets my vote, because his gigs were among my best partynights ever. Unfortuntaly, I've never been to a PvD gig before.

Are we talking about DJing or producing?
It's a close one.
I'd probably go with Tiesto, but to be fair I haven't heard much PvD stuff from the last year or so.

Even though hes arrogant and lazy, the man never stops touring and has a friggin' talent in the music industry.

My advice:
Those who are not too familiar with PVD's work, i suggest listenning to crush or for an angel
Those who are the same with tiesto's works, listen to flight 643 or adagio for strings
Those songs i believe were the best that they have ever produced!
P.S: Tiesto and PVD have completely different styles, u can't compare them, afterall it is relative (everybody goes with his likes) u like pure electro ---> tiesto
u like emotions ----> PVD
Don't mind me i am just giving my opinion :P

A few words of advice to the threadstarter:
Be prepared to be 'flamed'. Basically these threads have been done to death and if an impatient TA sees this they will most likely be nasty! In the future, use the 'Search' button to find threads like these!!
