Has anyone ever been to ICE in Vegas, they use the DJM-1000. best sound quality i have ever heard. |
Well they are also running a full four point Funktion 1 system unlike any on the west coast!
Taken from another thread, and why the 800's "MIDI" actually sucks shit:

Not really...as a MIDI controller, the DJM-800 is not that useful. The faders/knobs will send out MIDI, but they are not reprogrammable or remappable.
For instance, if you're using, say, Traktor...which knob will you use to select your tracks? which button will you use to choose a track, or to press play, or cue? You'll be able to control the virtual mixer with the EQ's and faders...but all the other functionality....???
Thats where the NUO4 and the XONE:3D are superior....the offer a TON more MIDI functionality. In the case of the NUO4, you can reprogram all the MIDI commands...and it has 89 MIDI commands....plus, it's HALF the price! |
The mixer will send MIDI, but only as a mixer, the functions are not customizable and re-assignable.
So it kind of defeats the purpose.
So when will someone build a good mixer/midi controller? Who knows. The 3D is whack..not enough buttons/knobs.
I guess Sasha's build your own route is the best right now...
So yeah, hopefully the 800 will sound good, but wouldn't you expect it to given the price? Allen & Heath have sounded amazing for years, even my little 32 sounds as clean as the 92.
If I were you jesse, i'd get a 92, Allen & Heath have great design and build, and the filters are ADDICTIVE to say the least!
