haha, i just got done listening to this mix and was just about to comment and bump it for you.
really enjoyed this mix man. i really appreciate the fact that you have an original theme and inpiration for the mix. mixes with a good or well realized theme end up being the most memorable ones. rather than the mixes that just come about because someone wanted to shocase their new tunes and throw in some older ones for filler. really like the 'oriental theme' and it comes across very well. at first i thought the oriental thing was just an 'after-the-fact' gimmick, but with that wonderful intro addition and track selection, it's clear that this was very premeditated. |
it's nice to hear that you've noticed this. That's true. The concept was first.
| quote: | though i don't know how politically correct the term 'oriental' is now a days. but you prob dont have to worry about that in poland too much. |
haha, you've got me I supposed 'oriental' refers to 'Asia' not only in Europe. Am I wrong? What substitute would you use?
Talking about 'east culture' is meaningless too :-)
| quote: | intro was excellent. went really well with the tune; i couldn't tell it wasn't part of the tune. very nicely done and what a great movie huh. |
Thanks! To be honest this OST (two tracks used) worked almost immediately with "Definition". After key matching it was a pure pleasure to polish the intro with some filters. I like it and I'm happy you like it too.
| quote: | | i really liked your track. not the most impressive tune but you were right; it fit really well in the mix where it did. i also like the melody in the track that hits around 10:35 in the mix. good stuff. |
Didn't expect to get such a positive feedback on this you are so warm-hearted, you can always find the pros and don't mention the cons
| quote: | great track list, build/progression and energy. exceeded my expectations, very nicely done. the mashup is also very nicely done, quite refreshing. i always hate when people complain about rehashes or remixes of classic tunes. i personally love to hear familiar melodies and in a differen't way or complimented with other tunes. if done well. and you have, thanks.
your right about Moon Sugar as well. really nice tune there. and went SO WELL after Silent Waves. Nice work man. |
Some people may grumble about too much Estueras in a row I could have replaced one Jonas track with Under Sun - Captured... if it only got released. It's perfect for this mix. I also thought of using 3 Fingers - Frozen February (Flake Remix)
I'm glad you liked my mash-up, really keeps me motivated.
And yes, Silent Waves -> Moon Sugar is one of my favourite transitions. Actually almost every transition differs from each other. Sometimes I used additional subtle flanger while unkilling high frequencies. Tried and learned a lot of new things.
| quote: | rest of the mix is done very well; building up. didn't really like the transition to "loves we lost". seemed to drop the energy you were building up to that point. but other than that, superb mate. |
That is a good point about "the loves we lost". However, is it about transition or just big suspense pauses the track has? Maybe it should start a little later, after the first suspense. Thanks for noting this. (edit: ok I understand now you're terribly right "the loves we lost" just can't go after "yin", but switching these two tracks possibly would do the trick here. right? )
| quote: | | i've been getting back into the more standard types of trance lately so your mix hit me just right. i was looking for a euphoric trance mix with a unique twist and this hit the spot. |
Nice to hear the mix has fulfilled your needs I recommend myself for the future
Big thanks for your deep review! You don't know how much I appreciate that
woohoo, quite a huge post with all these quotations
