Do you guys like to include vocals in your songs. I think it adds a lot more to a song if you've got some vocals or atleast some female sounds in it. Not necessarily words though. But just the sense that the song is authentic and natural in a way. Adds more emotion too. Downside is that vocals usually don't leave much space for other instruments and you need someone to sing them.

So do you guys like or want to have vocals in your songs?

I think its very hit and miss...

there are times I love a track, only to have it ruin totally by just some cheap vocal, which serves no purpose other than to make the tune work a bit more commercially. That makes me really annoyed, but is sorta understandable. People almost always think a good track needs vocals, when was the last time an instrumental got high in the charts?

However, on the flip side, I agree that a vocal when executed well, will add so much dimension and emotion to a tune, and there is so much you can do to a vocal too, so in that sense I'd love to work with them some day. For now I get my dubs sorted first!

Yes, vocals can be great but my all time favourite tunes don't have/need them imo there aren't a great number of talented vocalists on the trance scene anyway.

I am with the rest here. It strongly depends on it, track per track.

I see quite some tracks that became very popular without any vocals whatsoever (proving the fact that vocals are not NEEDED to create a mega-popular track), just been re-released with an incredibly useless vocal on top. In this case vocals aren't serving any purpose at all and I think it could just be left at that.

I still believe trance music to be a very instrumentally-oriented genre though, being able to let someone enter 'a state of trance' with melodies and rhythms

I like some type of vocalization in every track I produce. It can just be a female voice singing "laaah", or a male voice whispering a short phrase. I feel it gives more meaning to my songs, and helps convey the concept of the song.

I enjoy hearing vocalizations when I'm just listening to Trance, or any sort of EDM. So I like to do the same with my tracks. Sometimes if I hear an instrumental track with no vocalizations, I start to get bored with it. Vocals just make things more intereting, and make a song mean more.

I put samples from movies in my tracks and stuff, but otherwise I try to avoid vocals. For the most part, I've found that they detract.

Vocalisations and chops are alright, though. Like Underworld - Spikee, or Union Jack - Red Herring.
