ok.
i just want to compress the kick.
i have loaded the kick sample with other samples in the drum machine.
so adding it as an insert effcet will compress all the samples along with the kick? right?
how do i compress only the kick?
pics... much appreciated
also, wanna make kick punchy.

On the back panel of your rack you have several outputs from the Redrum. Patch the compressor only to this channel where you have the kick loaded.
ok so from red drum kick out to compressor in ?
wer do i put the compressor but..?
as a send effect?

srsly, it's just as he told you
let's think you have your kick in redrum channel nr. 1
now turn your rack using TAB...you see output channels on the back of the redrum...route channel one to your compressor in...and voilá your kick is compressed...........easy!
If you want the files I hosted, download them ASAP! They will be deleted the 25th april (tomorrow).

I wish people would just answer the question instead of ranting.
It seems like you have the answer, but what I would do first is create an EQ, route the kick out to the EQ in, and then route the EQ out to the compressor in and then the Compressor out to a channel on the mixer.
I usually set up a separate drum mixer for more control when using reason.
