My New Track ***still under contruction***

Here is my new track ive been working on. Im more of a song writter than a producer. Although this my first track i have bothered to mixdown properly (on headphones believe it or not), It sounds crisp clear, but I have not gotten a hang of the Effects yet, as you can tell - Any sugestions? Let me know what you think of it?

It is NOT finished as you will be able to tell. I was thinking of puting in some uplifing strings and pads on the 2nd breakdown with a main riff coming in, what do you think? I may change the percussion as it seems out-of-date and tacky? - i started this track 2yrs ago but have just started to work more on it and mix it down.

To make it simpler for me: i have devised a system for feedback, along with any additional comments:

Please give a mark out of 10 (10 being amazing and 1 being awful)-

*Rythm (i.e. rhythm of the sounds used, general rhythm of the track etc):
*Percusion and Kick:
*Sounds used:
*Mix-down:
*Musicaly (i.e. sounds used, rhythm etc):
*Proffesionalism:
*How well the sounds fit in together:
*Originality:
*Any additional feedback comments?

TRACK WAS WRITTEN, PRODUCED & MIXDOWN IN REASON 2.0

Enjoy!

DJ Alliance...thanks for reviewing my track bro!

Rhythm: 6 - I personally would looove to hear that open hi-hat brighter, and maybe just a little more compression in the percussion. Some VERY subtle warm reverb behind all the percussion (except the kick of course ) would bring in a little more ambience as well.

Percussion&Kick: 8 - Again, HUGE fan of th at open hi hat. I hate how I always default to the 909...it reminds me of how BT always uses very cool sounding open hats. KICK is nice.

Sounds used: 5 - Just needs more variety imo. I think more pads, gated would be nice. OR doing some rhythmic cutoff effects with the main lead synth that's playing unison notes perhaps...automate a couple bars of cut-off and use that to help with rhythm, or comb-filter a background effect perhaps.

Mix-down: 7 - I don't know how to describe the mix down simply because it's pretty thin at the moment. I closed my eyes when I listened to it another time to try and map the sonic spectrum, and It feels like it's missing some deep, deep sub bass and maybe a few mids. Only a few though...the high's are covered nicely with the brightness of the saws you've got goin'

Musically: 5 - More variety bro! One thing I learned from a few composers is that it's so easy to get stuck in one groove...and I have fallen into that category so many times. It's almost scary to hop out into something new. But once you do it, you feel a new energy with the piece.

How well the sounds fit together: 9 -I think the sounds mix together very nicely. I like the very low-balanced synth in the far back as well. I'm attracted to the subtleties that producers put into their pieces.

Originality: 4 - I hate putting a 4 here, but I think after about a minute or so, I realized that it wasn't going to change a whole lot...try to keep the listener's ear from becoming saturated so that way they're with you the whole time. We want to go with you on the journey you're taking us on!

Additional: I think I've said a lot for each individual section you've asked. Just try a few new ideas with the same track and honestly I bet you'll explode with energy at how many doors it opens up. Good luck bro and thanks for reviewing my track-in-progress as well!

Thanx for that mate, really appreciated. I was thinking the same about ading a deep bassline lol. Was gona put in a main riff in that 2nd breakdown just to add variety -what do you think? I liek that hi-hat and kick too, they both sit in really well.

Anyone else?

kick could be adjusted a tad to give it more boom. sounds very empty at the minute. it could be the dry bass. needs some delay on it to beefen it up. the track lacks a hook. you need something in here thats going to grab people by the balls. acutally sounds like some old skool stuff. party people springs to mind.

some nice things going on you just need to make some changes to the track more life.

keep it up!
