I have an original print of Solarstone - Seven Cities on vinyl. I have done some research and apparently this is worth quite a good bit of money. I am looking to get rid of this as I could use the cash, and figured this would be a good place to start looking for a 'collector' who might want to buy it. If you are interested in making me an offer, please send me an email to [email protected]

Unfortunately, you're a few years too late, trance vinyl isn't worth much right now. I'd hold on to it, unless you're prepared to be disappointed. Almost every version of this song has been repressed, so there's very few releases that collectors (like myself) actually look for.
If you've already found a buyer that gave you a decent price, just sell it. You'll be much better off than trying to get rid of it here or on eBay.

It's like I said in my post, you're a few years too late. Three years ago, I could've sold ten records for +$1000, now they'll be lucky to sell at all. I think the biggest difference in price is caused by the complete shift in musical tastes. The types of records that used to fetch so much money on eBay aren't popular any longer, so no one's buying them. This is not to say "TRANCE IS DEAD", because anyone with half a brain can figure out that music doesn't die, trance simply lost the main-stream popularity that it enjoyed for about five or six years. Think about it, Oakenfold doesn't play the records he played in the late 90s, early 2000s. Nor does Sasha. Digweed doesn't. Hell, even Tiesto found a new song or two to play, I'm amazed that guy can find his own ass... but enough about him. If you paid a lot of money for some of these records with the plan to sell them later, you're probably screwed. Unless trance suddenly becomes amazingly popular again, these records really aren't worth much any longer.
Look at this 12" release of Frontside's Dammerung:
http://www.discogs.com/release/121653
It's easily one of the most sought-after records by Discogs standards, and was on eBay last week. It sold a few years ago for $300+. It sold over this past weekend for $10.50 USD. The time has passed for this music, and if you're buying it now to resell for profit, you're an idiot.
Buy trance to enjoy, play for yourself and play out for those who appreciate it, but don't spend your money with the idea that you'll make a profit on it, b/c it's not going to happen, at least not for a long, long time.

couldnt agree more, or say it better, waxHead. nonetheless, its such a shame. i think i will start focussing more n more now on mixing, in stead of collecting and try selling stuff with a profit ..

(i know it looks stupid 2 quote urselfs, but here we go ):
on the other hand, you occasionally see sometimes that other genres still gain high/decent prices. i dont know what the market for e.g. progressive or progressive house tunes was like 2 years ago, but nowadays, prices are still fairly good, at least, thats what it seems to me. i could be wrong, since i dont know the history of that specific 'market', but prices usually end around (at least) the original price of the record when its sold in stores ... so thats a plus, if im right ... right?

Do you have some specific examples? In general, most trance records from 1994 through now don't sell for much any longer. There are always exceptions, but if you say a record ending at $10 USD on eBay now a "decent price", then you should've watched them a few years ago.

with 10 USD i mean a decent price yes. i know that in the past it might have been normal that it was a lot more, but 10 USD is at least the original price. i dont have specific examples, but if you search for people who sell MdK/Sasha/Chable/etc records, their prices end up just below 10 USD. thats what i saw at least 2 days ago, since im a dekay fan, and i watched most of the dekay somebody sold. almost all those record came to some 8 or 9 euro's, which is approx. 10 USD .... thats 'my example'
if i have another good example, ill post it here. is it perhaps an idea to start a topic on this in another thread, since were now kinda ruining this guys' thread/goinf off topic ... ??
