Question Compositional question..

Ive got a filtered "melody" in the break which takes 32 beats, and after that I want to bring in the unfiltered melody which is ofcourse also 32 beats.
How can I put a little mute piece between the filtered part and the "full unfiltered part", while still keeping the 32 "rythm"?

(Im terrible when it comes to "producinglanguage" in english.. so I hope the following image makes that 32 point clear)

how do I insert a silence on the *? or how can I solve this problem by "avoiding" it.. because the break really, really needs a silence between those parts.

thank you for your time, and I sincerely hope somebody will respond to my question.

Well you could simply mute the last bar of the filtered synth... or if you're not too fussy about keeping the timing you could just add an empty bar there.
