Review: Ferry Corsten @ Bleu - June 18, 2006
I was so exhausted on Sunday I almost didn't want to go to this party. But alas, it's Ferry...I had to.
Cale and I missed the dinner meet up b/c of Father's Day festivities - hope it went well! Got to the club around 10:30pm and it was starting to fill up. KT was on the deckws and he was banging out some dirty beats. I've always been a Kenneth Thomas fan. It's always great to hear a successful DJ from (almost) my home town.
We met up with Barry, his gf (nice to meet you), met Jessie (again! hehe), Michelle, and dj_ajaxs (sp?) - it was good to meet you, I don't think I ever caught your name though!
Ferry was up on stage for a little while before he spun and as soon as I saw him my heart stopped. I dunno what it is about that guy...but I can't stop smiling when he's around.
Ferry came on around midnight, and after my eyes stopped twinkling I danced my heart out. He was spinning some nice old-school style trance. It was fucking awesome!!! (I know I've been going to more house parties lately...but sorry guys, I'm still no house head - trance owns my soul!!)
His first hour was my fave. Great trance, then moved it into more electro style and spun a lot of the new tunes off his album.
Some of the tracks we heard:
Fire
Cubikated
I Love You
Watch Out
L.E.F.
In Your Loving Arms
I can't think of more right now...they'll come to me.
The only downfall of the night was the crowd. I've been to Bleu many times before and didn't mind the crowd, but last night was a bit annoying. Everyone was crazy drunk - or at least acted like it - very pushy, lots of "walls" on the dance floor", sleazy guys, people jumping all over the place with no respect for the people around them. Last night I had enough. Nada you would have been proud. I wasn't taking shit from anyone. You take over my dance spot, or make a wall right infront of me, be prepared for elbows in the side and your feet being stepped on.
Great night to start of my 2 week birthday celebration!!
I Ferry Corsten!!
