On the whole that's a yes..
I run both though.
The Intel mac Mini is pretty special given it's price point and the fact you can seriously upgrade the cpu in it. The G5s give you slots, and compatability with the old world (ie Cubase SX no worky under intel macs.. yet), and admittedly more CPU but at the cost of being old tech with a guaranteed limited lifespan.
Personally if you are wanting to go mac, then unless you have pantloads of cash the mini really is the way to go for 90% of people..

He just means that since Apple has transitioned to Intel, that the power PC machines are phased out.
Apple will obviously support the Power PC machines for quite a while, but you have to wonder whether third party SW vendors will.
