hey guys ill be playing on limin's radio show from 7-8 and i hope some of you will tune in if your bored on a thursday night! you can go to :
http://wmbc.umbc.edu/technical/help.php
to set things up on your computer or follow the directions below:
The Easy Way
* Start your MP3 player
* For Winamp or XMMS, hit "Ctrl-L", or go to Preferences -> "Open Location".
* For iTunes, hit "Apple-U" or go to Advanced -> Open Stream.
* For Windows Media Player, hit "Ctrl-U" or go to File -> "Open URL".
* If you're on a dialup (phone) modem, type "http://broadcast.umbc.edu:8000/wmbc-lofi" (without the quotes), and hit "OK".
* If you're on a cable modem, DSL line, or ethernet connection, type "http://broadcast.umbc.edu:8000/wmbc-hifi" (without the quotes), and hit "OK".
A Better Way
These instructions will make it so that you can click on links like the ones below and at the top of the page, and your browser will automatically Do The Right Thing.
Under Windows, make sure that Winamp has registered the .PLS extension (installing the new media player for windows can mess this up)--open Winamp, go to the preferences, setup tab, and make sure .pls is highlighted in the file types box.
For IE or Netscape:
* For dialup (phone) modems, click here. For cable modems, DSL lines or Ethernet connections, click here.
* If your browser asks what to do with the file, point it to winamp.exe (usually in c:\Program Files\Winamp). Tell your browser you want to open the file, and you don't want to be asked every time
Linux-specific:
* If you are using Netscape 4, you can install mpg123 in combination with plugger.
* If you are using Mozilla, the latest version will work like the Windows instructions above, except that you want to point it to /usr/bin/xmms.
hope you tune in!ill post a tracklist and link to the mix after the show
