Consider (if you want) trance and lyrics as being on opposite ends of a spectrum. The more of one you have, the less of the other you have.

Obviously, there are exceptions (probably many), but IMO lyrics detract from the music, unless the singer's voice is used as more of an 'instrument' rather than having the song being more focused on the words.

I think it is important to find a source of words of wisdom and then build up your lyrics from there. Take, for example, these wise words of wisdom from BlackSheep's tune called 'Pass the 40'. Suppose you can have singing lyrics or just speaking lyrics. I've looked on sites for poetry or any speaking that sounds good, then apply loads of reverb and FX and it can soound quite good.
