That's because it's much, much harder to do.
The 80s were a decade of a lot of innovation and experimentation thanks to MIDI.
I found the 90s to be filled with a lot of cookie cutter dance tracks than could be remixed a thousand times easier; and there were a lot more to choose from as well.
Not saying the 80s didn't have it's dance tracks, but it wasn't until Blue Monday came along and started to change all that in the early/mid part of the decade.
