Dancing Dude Boycott Belo in San Diego

So at Belo "nightclub" in San Diego....

Last night Sander killed it, but the club management
killed our evening by not serving me or my
girlfriend any TAP Water after 1:45, even
though they were open till 4 AND I thought CA. Law required a restaurant to serve water to choking customers.

So sadly we had tickets for Danny Howells tonight at Belo.
We had to see Danny/Cullan and Anthony Ross despite the locale.
After having a fun night dancing and enjoying a solid Howells
set we decided to test the "waters" again.
After hearing from friends and people on the board,
like Dave T., that Belo had to serve us free tap water
I confidently approached the bar at 1:45 to ask
for said water.
Instantly the previously friendly bartenders turned into
the spawn of Satan.

They yelled at me to wait till later. After saying again I needed free tap water they told me to leave and "just go away."
I informed them it was CA. Law to serve me tap water and they yelled at me to talk to the manager.
So I went to the manager and asked for the water.
He told me to "not worry about it." When I asked why they couldn't serve me tap water he told me to "go away."
I then told him he was violating CA. Law by not serving me water and he stopped.

After pausing he motioned to the barteneder to serve me ONE "goddamned tap water" and the bartender responded with "F--K!!!"

Like I asked for her first born child or something!!! WTF????
She tosses the water at me while me and my girl are just standing there shocked at this silly scene.

On top of another bad non-EDM hip-hop crowd at Belo the club closed at 2:15 despite saying they were open till 4am on the ticket.
Plus they had a bonus Daylight Savings hour!
Par for the course I guess.

I'm a laid back EDM fan and its soooo sad that Belo is leading the charge in San Diego for now. I thought 4th and B was just ok.
But now they look like saviors compared to the people running Belo.

I rather party with 100 washers than return to Belo again and will make sure others stay away.

To be continued with Belo.... Hope everyone else enjoyed their night. Danny/Cullan and Anthony brought it proper all night. Time to enjoy the rest of the night....

sorry you had such a bad night bro... the club has some major ups and downs and your feedback helps us tell them what needs to change.

about the 4a.m. thing, trust me we wanted to... i was even suppose to go back on after danny was done but some huge fight broke out right upstairs next to the entrance and the SDPD told the club that its night was over.

anyways, a lot of the staff there is new because when the place got bought about 2 month's ago management fired everyone. Hopefully these guys get up to speed on everything because trust me, i got some of the worst txt msg's from my friends tonight that i've recieved in a long time.

hope your halloween was good, what were you dressed as? how'd you like my double dare costume?

Good to hear the "Behind the Music" story here.

I know Belo has potential, but the management is killing me.
And why a fight outside the club should close the night is
just weird. But very Belo like.

Good to know the 411 on the management turnover b/c they run
the place like newbies to the dance scene.

Plus they gotta decide if its a hip-hop club or EDM club. The two rooms are too close together and the music
and crowd blends badly.
At least On Broadway spreads the rooms out.

Still had a fun night and you guys rocked it. But it can be soooo much better!

Thanks. And yes that was a sweet costume!

What about the people who don't drink? People need to stay hydrated as they dance, and if people either aren't allowed to have water then that is total bullshit.

Agreed. They are required to offer free water to designated drivers as part of California law. Houseaddict, you should file a formal complaint or make a phone call to the Alcohol Beverage Control of California and let them know what is going on with Belo, get them to send out an investigator and document violations. Fines are the only thing that night clubs understand. Here is the A.B.C. website -> A.B.C. of California <-

Yeah, the free water law is there to protect people. It's for designated drivers and to help those who are drinking sober up faster.

What a buzz kill. If i was there i probably would have been freaking out over the water thing, strange how some of the simplest things can work out. I'm all for Boycotts!!!! if it's one thing i cant stand are bar tenders with sticks up their @$$#$$! They have this false sense of power. What's up with that?

Here, here concerning the false sense of power. They should kiss our ass for our tips.

I'll join your Boycott. No Belo for me until I hear they've cleaned up their act, which may be never.
