Must say that Nick started off very slow and kept rollercoastering for about 45 minutes. There was one point where Matt beat me to the punch and said "he just lost the crowd", and it was obvious when he did. I guess he noticed that, because right after that happened he turned it up a notch and kept it going from there. The last hour of the set was really great. Played all of his remixes and had control of the house when he played his remix of 'is it love'. All in all, it was a good night even though he screwed with the EQ and overall sound way too much. His tracks that he produces can get away with that, but many of the tracks he played that he didn't produce were very dull because of it. Still not sure what he was hearing when balancing the sound. Also, that MF is deaf. Went back to the booth to hand out. He had two monitors, great monitors I may add, about 2 1/2 feet from him on both sides and a two main speakers behind him. It was louder in the booth that it was on the floor. It literally hurt to be in that booth as loud as it was. But, he played on CDJ's all night and only had one bad spot where he sounded like he lost it on the transition. Glad I went and would go see him again.
Has anyone seen him and Micro together? Wierd that they are hooked up as partners (no Dave and Dirk, not your kind of 'partners'). Sounds seem too different to me for them to be a duo.
