Unhappy How do I eat smart on a budget? I'm wasting money here.. and starving

Any suggestion for cost-efficient (not just cheap) foods? Or foods that are quick and easy to make. I'm really wasting money buying fast food/Subway from outside all the time. It sucks when you can't count on mom to cook for you and you have to get your own food. I'm no cook.

What I already know:
-Spaghetti is a good one, but that can get bland when I eat it too much.
-Chef Boyardee is ok
-Ramen noodles/soup in a cup: SO PLAIN AND UNSATISFYING.

I want more variety, I am so tired of eating the same things all the time.

Suggest brands, share tips and recipes, etc..

Oh man, back when I was in junior high I used to toast some italian bread and eat it with either butter or peanut butter. Often with some Tropicana fruit/berry juice.

But I stopped doing that after a while. I thought I'd have a heart attack or something.

Not cost efficient AT ALL for what you get.

I'd much rather eat one of those Frozen pizzas, like Jeno's or something.

Two large pizzas + Crazy Bread w/ sauce = $13

If you get that for one person, it could last you for two, maybe three days.

- frozen pizzas
- frozen meals in a bag (Contessa & Barilla make some good ones)
- hamburger helper, mac & cheese, boxed meals, etc...

but if you really wanna go cost-efficient, you're better off making your own meals from scratch. mexican food is pretty easy (enchiladas, tacos, burritos) as well as italian (pasta + garlic bread + salad)... just figure out what you like and try to collect some recipes. even if you grocery shop once per week and keep your fridge and cabinets stocked, you'll probably spend less than you would if you're eating out 10x per week.
