CDJ to Vinyl

This sat. I will be playing at the party where they only have turntables. I use torq along with my cdj800mk2. I do not want to drag my cdjs to the party so my question is. will i have any problems adjusting to vinyls if I use timecodec vinyls? i played few years ago on gemini belt driven TT but only for fun. SHould I bring my cdjs or should I try mixing with timecoded vinyls?

Kinda depends...how do you correct in the mix? Do you use the pitch slider to pitch bend? If that's the case, then you should have no trouble adjusting...you just won't be as accurate in dropping the track, but that won't really matter since you can just correct it afterwards.

However, if you use the jog wheel to adjust, then you might have a little trouble. This week, pretend you don't have your jog wheel for adjusting the pitch and try mixing a set. Mix in vinyl mode on the 800s and only use the jog wheel to drop the track, not to adjust it.

Regardless, I doubt you'll have much trouble...if you're just around friends and a few screw ups really won't matter, then just use the turntables...you'll be fine. If they do matter...then try mixing as I said above and see how you do. Then decide.
