Was looking for anyone who has these on this forum that could let me know their opinions of them.
How they feel the sound, bass reponse, build quality etc. As I have seen very little about them but what I have found does give a good opinion overall, bearing in mind their size and price.
Im prob going to save up for HR624 but I dont want to overlook any hidden gems!!! lol
Thanks

I just bought the ALP5's about a month ago and they are very good. They are smaller than I thought but are very solid. Great crisp, clear sound as well as being totally flat. Very nice stereo imaging - you can hear everything in the mix and then some! The only criticism I would have is that the bass is very "lean" - it is there but you sometimes have to look for it. Overall a good buy and probably the best monitor in it's price range.

This is what I like hear. It took Event like 2 years to release them after they first put them on there website, but I guess it was worth the wait. Have you thought about matching them with a sub? I'd like to hear these little guys maybe I'll venture on over to guitar center this weekend and have a listen. Quinders looks like you in luck, Event has a dedicated matching sub for these guys
I would love to see how this combo stacks up against the Blue Sky Media Desk set up that I keep suggesting for everyone.

Thanks Quinders
What you said is what ive heard about then. Nice stereo imaging, clean, clear, solid.
You can buy them in the UK for £200 notes which is a steal tbh, and the sub would be approx £150 converted so for £350 you get a pretty mean system.
I have an sub back at my parent house, Magnat 10" 90w rms sub which goes down to 22hz!!!!!!! so I wont be lacking in bass when i get it setup lol!!!
I am seriously tempted by these rather than spend another £320 on the Mackie speakers. Obviously ill have to give them a listen b4 deciding.

so sexyyyyyy
Agree with everyone who said nice things -
high is a liiiiiiittle weak, but this is nice, less fatiguing.. also bass a little lean but its 5 inches.. these are very slight commentaries based on price/size.
amazing bang for buck

Save up for the Mackies HR624, I have them and they are unbelievable. My mixing has improved so much on them. Feel free to PM if you want any more info on them.

Excellent! I didn't know about this and I'll definately look into it. £150 seems a tad steep for just a sub but it may well be worth it. Cheers.

HR824 is just like the 'older brother', would be louder and has an 8 inch cone, as supposed to the 6 inch cone on the HR624. Trust me, the 624 goes loud enough

You may need to reevaluate your perspective of your own situation. Put it this way, you’re on a forum because you love music. You love listening to music; you love it so much in fact that you have decided to make some yourself. God only knows how many hours a week you spend composing and bopping your head to that 4/4 kick drum. Wouldn’t it just make sense that the thing your most passionate about get what it needs? Embellish your self in a full accurate monitoring system; get your self a good tool for your trade (YOUR MAIN TOOL). Put down the SKOL Vodka for goodness sake and sip the Grey Goose, you find some things are worth the extra cost.

Loads of ppl do rate these and the have a pretty awesome frequency response.
However I will be running which ever monitors i get in 1/4 space - in corners of a untreated room. So obviously the flat freq response is going out of the window.
It is a difficult choice and obviously I'm going to have to try to listen to them both! But on paper I'm leaning towards the ALP5 not least as one of my mates does engineering work for Uberdruck and has just helped master a track for Ed Real so he can lend me his ears for any mix down!!! lol
