As well I found the SOS mix to be alot more surface than the Howell's mix. Howell's EM IMO just had alot more feel to it, alot more depth, alot more meaning. The set as a whole told a far better story than that of SOS's. |
You said it perfectly.
The SOS mix, while it has its moments, at times it just feels like it "stumbles", or loses some of it's flow. I attribute it to the fact that there's 3 guys mixing, instead of one, so sometimes there's a bit of "miscommunication" so to speak. The mixing is a little weak too at times, and again, it goes back to the fact that you have 3 guys on like 2 mixers, 4 CDJ's, 2 laptops, bla bla bla. All they're missing is a monkey playing on some bongo's.

depends on the mood you are in. Party mood = SOS . Chill out mood = howells. Both essentials are awesome though.
