A TOUCH OF CLASS DJS BIO:

Oliver Stumm and Domie Clausen form the production duo A Touch Of Class and are NY based artists that founded their own label imprint ATOC RECORDS in 1999 to release their own music material as well as help launch other acts.

Successful you might say: They produced the UK Top 10 Hit "Flawless" by The Ones, they signed and released the first singles of the Scissor Sisters and are responsible for numerous remixes including names like Taana Gardner, A.R.E. Weapons, Le Tigre and Erasure.

They have been a favorite in fashion circles and fit style-wise somewhere between Electro/Disco/Punk and Dance Rock, combining real instruments, electronics and vocals with attitude covering a broad spectrum.

Bored with easy assembled lifestyles, magazine hype and industry compromises they've decided to create their own platform thus keeping total independence and control. They use the name A Touch Of Class as an umbrella for all their activities and interests such as music production, artwork, design of their website, their record label or creating their own installations and events.

With educational backgrounds ranging from visual design to mathematics the two concentrate on product development and high craftsmanship rather than publicity hype and conventional marketing strategies. With this "grass roots" philosophy they have established a name around the world and have performed with the likes of 2many DJs, Tiga, James Murphy (DFA) and their work is being rotated by internationally renowned DJs like Erol Alkan (Trash, UK) and Felix da Housecat.

Their work has been included on numerous boutique compilations like "COLETTE", "Hang the DJ Vol.2" (2Many DJs), "Tiga's Turbo Sessions Vol.3" and has been included in movies like "Party Monster" featuring Macaulay Culkin and Chloe Sevigny as well as the Michael and Kirk Douglas movie "A Few More Years".

SERVICES BIO:

Breaking boundaries, breaking beats, breaking necks: SERVICES is your desire, and your desire is their business. Lauded for their live shows...an experience not for the weak at heart: in galleries, in rock clubs, in your kitchen, locker rooms...push push: Extreme innovation: past plutonium, past the limits of electro, rock, and industrial. Moment here...not here...here...2 guys / 2 instruments / 2 live ...hey, they don't need clichés...they don't have to settle for shit and neither do you.

Trztn and Chris of SERVICES have been some of the most important figures in New York's underground music scene. While the trends have come and gone, the two have remained resolute in their creation of challenging high-concept music. Tape loops and heavy metal riffs, cut-up and rearranged, are stripped down and filled with mysterious vocal hooks making their songs witty and powerful with sloganeering lyrics that evoke Dadaism and Surrealism: "You, Me, We: Killer Bees! Take me back to the cemetery where I'm buried - at once!"

Trztn, artist, incendiary thinker, and owner of the idiosyncratic Pinksock Records label, has collaborated with FM Einheit (of Einstuerzende Neubauten fame), Electro Atomu (who Trztn shared another band: Sauna Kings), and German Techno legends Dr.Walker and Khan (Bedroom Productions). He also produced and released The Melted Men's last record, as well as founding and fronting the seminal New York band Flux Information Sciences, whose last record was released on Michael Gira's Young God Records. Flux, whose members included Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, was featured in the Tribeca Film Festival documentary winner "Kill Your Idols", which tied the No-Wave NYC movement of the early '80's to current trends in music.

Mr. Christopher Pravdica, professional father and slave to the women, was the bass player in The Supreme Dicks, Flux Information Sciences and the Gunga Din (who released 2 records on Jet Set Records). He’s worked in the studio with Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), Larry Mullins (Iggy Pop/ Residents), Kid Congo Powers (Cramps/Gun Club) to name a few.

In 2005 SERVICES signed with A Touch of Class Recordings, a label mostly known for their up-to-the-moment dance music, and released their debut album titled Your Desire Is My Business, co-produced and mixed by DJ/production duo A Touch Of Class (a.k.a. ATOC) and legendary producer Roli Mosiman (The The, Faith No More, New Order). In the summer ATOC DJs and SERVICES teamed up for a massive European tour to play in all types of venues: from Lisbon to Moscow, Art Basel parties to the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona.

SERVICES continued to perform and record in 2006. They blasted audiences in May at All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival before joining the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for several shows in the UK. Around the same time SERVICES released their first 12" single "Element of Danger" with remixes by MSTRKRFT (Wolfmother, Annie, The Kills) and ATOC (The Gossip, Le Tigre, Erasure). Their second single featuring remixes by Zongamin and Nick Zinner (of Yeah Yeah Yeahs) is set for release in early 2007. Be on the lookout for SERVICES’ second album in the spring of 2007.
