...FInal Scratch or Vinyl?

i was planning to buy final scratch in a few days...just wanted sum feedback from final scratch users

1) is the control and feel on the time coded vinyls the same as on real vinyl?

2) what are the drawbacks or problems one can encounter with final scratch? while using them and in the long term as well

3) will i actually save money buy buying final scratch or should i just stick to buying vinyl?

whats the verdict? i mean what do you guys recommend? worth it or not?

thanks guys, ur feed back will help me make my decision...thanks in advance

p.s: i currently have a computer setup but am planning to buy turntables, mixer and final scratch...but if you guys have any other suggestions, i would greatly appreciate it...i dont want to just buy something without knowing what the best cost effective option is out there...thanks guys
cheers

Don't buy Final Scratch. Get Serato instead. Serato's support kicks ass, and it's pretty much the industry standard now.

I like the look of torque. Its around £200 cheaper and seems to have the same features.

The only difference i can see is it says its 48khz instead of 96. I don't know if this would be noticable or not

Well, then a software solution like Torq/Serato would be perfect because you could still use your turntables and sync them to your computer and your mp3 tracks.

After buying about $600 worth of vinyl, I finally bit the bullet and purchased Serato.

Absolutely awesome program and definately worth the investment. I couldn't be happier with the program, except you better have a pretty decent computer to expect to run it at it's full potential.

Not true. Look at Serato's system requirements. I can tell you from first hand experience it works fine.

Serato is truly rock solid, the audio playback has never skipped for me and I regularly run other programs while it is playing.

Hey Azi, whats up, where in pakistan are you from? i am from kashmir

I was in pakistan last year and tried low and behold to get hold of some people to dj with and those who are in production, but there people are different lol.

Anyways, i bought myself M-Audio Torq from Dubai, its cheaper which might work better for you considering the exchange rate of ruppee to dollar, basically does the same job as Serato or final scratch, so many people are happy with it including me. DO give it a try and see if it fits your need.

THey have a M-Audio distributor in Karachi, its called AGN Computers, http://www.agncomputers.com/. Give them a buzz and see if they stock it.

thanks for all the replies guys

blacknoisybox: i was actually in london ontario when i registered an account with TRance addict...i was there for my university...anyways now im back in Karachi, Pakistan

funaki: im from karachi dude...hahaha funaki, you wont find many ppl here into this...they'll go as far as listening to electronic for enjoyment and raving on saturdays at pvt parties on the beach...but as far as djing and producing is concerned, not many of those..dont get me wrong, there are a handful here who dj and just 2 ive heard of who produce ( namely faisal baig and junaid mumtaz....mumtaz is pretty good...had opened for desyn sum time back according to what i hear...hes a resident at some club in london but comes down to karachi for gigs often....)

http://youtube.com/results?search_query=junaid+mumtaz ---> just to give you an idea of the scene here...chek out the videos

im just going to chk out the agn computers site...lol i had no idea sumone in karachi would actually be selling these audio devices...im suprised honestly...but its good to know pakistan is catching up to the scene...

miamitranceman, T-Soma, and cmay119, thanks a bunch for your feedback and suggestions...so i think the verdict is Serato...il definately look into the prices once again and make a decision soon hopefully...

anyways what turntables are u guys using and what turntables and mixer do you guys reccomend i get with my serato?...just to let you knw i have no experience with tables whatsoever, been doing it on a computer for a while...so i want somthing not too entry level but not too high tech and expensive either...something in the middle which will my abilities grow and sumthing i can stick with for a while even after i get out of the amatuer phase...

thanks guys

cheers to all

thanks once again guys
