The reverse works pretty simple, just tap the start button twice and it starts spinning in reverse, with pitch functionality.
But it's more a gadget you'll use a couple of times when you get it new, and forget about it pretty quick. If you ask me, I prefer the manual method (motor off, and spin backwards with finger). Takes some skill, but you have more control. |
well, what i want it for is spinning songs backwards. backwards kick drums have an awesome sound, a whoomp, whoomp, whoomp..
some tracks have that sample in them, but to actualy be able to mix in a track like that would be sweet.. keeping it perfect on beat using your finger is pretty tough, and doesn't leave your hands and mind free to adjust levels.
i thought of another application for backwards spinning decks too(besides the obvious, listening to your sabbath records for satanic messages)
you could find the place you want to drop a track, then cue it backwards from there, in the headphones. start from a pre determined cue point on the other record (the live one).
this would allow you to tell exactly where to start the second one later. i did a crappy job of explaining it, but maybe you got what i meant anyway?
basically, for tracks that have messed up or beatless intros, you could figure out where to drop the track so it lines up.
