I realize I should probably just leave this alone.. but I dont understand. I have looked for rules everywhere and I couldnt find them. (nothing I could tell in the faq) What was wrong with that thread? Was it that it was an illegal site like you say? That's kind of hypocritical for anyone to close especially since there's dozens of free mp3s on this site. (doesnt matter if you post 10 a month or 10 a week.. its still stealing). Fast said it was spam and unless he deleted some of the posts then i just dont see any of it.

I guess it really doesnt matter. I'm just curious thats all. Maybe someone could explain the reasoning to me.

some people are doing more then just maintaining sticky threads

As far as i know there there are no written rules ... BUT spamming and advertising for your own website is not tolerated . The same thread promoting DUMONDEFAN's website has been closed in the chill-out room and in the french section , therefor in Montreal too . And i've been nice enough for not deleting the link after closing the thread (which i am normally supposed to do) . As ZinG said , no need to start a new thread about it .

Media concerts is promoting his parties (even if i don't think it's the right place since audiowave won't include any trance dj) , just like many other people do in this section and in the other sections of the forums .

DARK MAN X : no we're not children , but a moderator is not here to make threads sticky and sit on his ass . Like i said , there are no particular rules , but having a couple of threads talking about the same damn topic , or people flaming each other is just annoying . If you still think what i'm doing is useless , then that's your opinion ... and to each his own .

I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH SOMEONE FIXING THE THREADS OR ADDING SHIT TO THE SITE, BOT IMOP NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT BESIDES SWAMPER TO SAY WHAT GOES UP AND WHAT MUST COME DOWN.

Have you ever seen me editing someone's post for no reason ? Swamper doesn't send cheques at the end of the month , not to me nor the other moderators , if you think there are priviledges for being a mod then you're wrong about it .

If Swamper himself had the time to read and moderate all the threads posted in all the forums , he wouldn't need any moderator . Besides he's the one who puts them up .

Yes , Swamper is the only one who should decide about what goes up and what must come down , and the moderators are only doing what Swamper would have done .

Trust me DARK MAN X , i'm simply doing my job by keeping the Montreal forum a nice place like it has always been , i'm far from acting such as a police officer or something .

this is one of the best websites on the net...atleast becoz its organized...if it wasnt for the moderators then it would be completely messy!

Thats fine fast I respect that you are doing what you think you are supposed to. However you cant possibly convince me that that one thread promoting a website was spam. Just because he posted that in a completely different section does not make it spam here. If I posted a thread about a song i like in two different sections it would be completely acceptable and would go unnoticed (as I have). And if I made a couple of threads in a few different sections saying I like someone else's website (lets say tranceaddict for example) it would also be completely acceptable. The real issue here is that it was HIS website. There is no way that his ONE little website thread is more obnoxious and more akin to spam that media's countless promotions or any other party promotion for that matter. Just because he was posting his own website does not make it spam.

And yes there was a need to make a new thread. The whole issue was Closing the old thread. If I could have given my opinion in the old thread I would have.

Anyway I know its not really important. Fast for the most part from what I have read I think you have your head on straight. Its just something I dont understan. (And im really just looking for something to do other than studying.)
