isnt goa a subgenre of trance? |
yes, mainly named after the area in south-west india.
As far as it goes, it's meant to be lovely, my auntie has been a few times and likes it. However it's listed as being a watch area on the government site i think....
Crime
Beware of the risk of street crime and take personal security measures including:
Taking particular care to safeguard your passport and credit/ATM cards, particularly when travelling by bus and train. There has been an increase in handbag snatching in Delhi.
A photocopy of your passport, Indian visa and flight ticket should be kept separately from the originals when travelling.
Be aware of what you are eating and drinking. There have been reports of travellers being drugged and robbed on trains.
Be wary of confidence tricksters, particularly in Agra and Jaipur. They promise a substantial cash reward for delivery of jewellery abroad but only in return for an initial deposit. The jewellery is invariably worthless and the deposit, often amounting to thousands of pounds, is lost.
Avoid walking alone in isolated spots in the popular tourist areas after dark. There have been incidents of sexual offences against women in Delhi and Goa. Female travellers are advised to observe and respect local dress and customs and to take particular care.
Goa
Whilst Goa is generally a trouble-free destination for tourists there have been incidents of sexual offences against women. Female travellers are advised to observe and respect local dress and customs and not to walk alone on the beaches or village lanes at night.
The Government of Goa has strict rules governing the purchase of property in the state by non-Indian nationals. Please ensure that you are familiar with the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act 1999 and the most recent instructions issued by the Reserve Bank of India before entering into any property purchase agreement. If the purchase is judged to violate local laws (including if you purchase whilst on a tourist visa), you are likely to lose all the money you have put in to the purchase, and may even face possible prosecution from the State. It is wise to engage a reputable local lawyer for advice before approaching estate agents or private vendors.
The penalties for trafficking, dealing and using drugs and for paedophile offences are severe.

| quote: | Goa Trance is a form of electronic music and is a style of Trance music. It originated in the late 1980s and early 1990s in the Indian state of Goa and is distinctive, as most forms of Trance music were developed in Europe. Goa Trance enjoyed the greater part of its success from around 1994–1998, and since then has dwindled significantly both in production and consumption, largely being replaced by its successor, Psychedelic Trance or Psytrance. [citation needed]
Goa Trance is closely related to the emergence of Psytrance during the latter half of the 1990s and early 2000s, where the two genres mixed together. In popular culture, the distinction between the two genres remains largely a matter of opinion (they are considered by some to be synonymous; others say that Psytrance is more "cybernetic" and that Goa Trance is more "organic", and still others maintain that there is a clear difference between the two). These two are, however, quite sonically distinct from other forms of trance in both tonal quality, structure and feel. In many countries they are generally more underground and less commercial than other forms of trance. |
