yes.

Equifax!

SCORE POWER is the feature you want to subscribe to for a month (or continually if you should want to. my friend who owns the two pita pits does, he always wants to know how his credit score is looking!)

Go here to check it out! Highly recommend it Eric.

You won't get your 'score' from this but it's good to see your credit history - for accuracy + it's free:

Really?? Does the score fluctuate that much based on such small things??

Credit history has always been somewhat of an enigma to me lol

Not if you're the one requesting the report nor if it's requested by a lender that you already have an account with

"Your own inquiries do not have any effect on your credit score."
http://www.fcac-acfc.gc.ca/eng/publ...portScore_e.pdf (Source: Financial Consumer Agency of Canada Credit Cuide - Page 4)

Checking wise, your score is affected every time you apply for any sort of financing, housing, insurance, etc - and your credit report is looked up. It used to be that the FICO scoring system counted multiple auto/mortgage inquiries made in a 14-day period as just one inquiry but that was extended to 45 days for Canadians back in May. So, if you're shopping around in that period across multiple lenders it won't ding you each time.

Seriously.. check your reports... sometimes there is incorrect data that'll mess you up down the line.

Good read: http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/i...dit-rating.html

no it doesn't.

Checking your own credit bureau or when employers check it while doing background checks is called a soft inquiry. It doesn't affect your actual score and the inquiry is not visible to creditors

you can get instant online access to you bureau at www.equifax.ca and www.transunion.ca

You need a credit card. it costs between $15 and $30. i suggest going with the more expensive option as it's more detailed and will actually provide you with your FICO/Beacon score. This score is what many creditors use to assess the risk you pose to them. The higher the score, the better your credit and less of a risk you are.
