Instead of praising the truce you come out with your far left criticism I just dont get it, when good news come out of Iraq the far left comes and hammers it. This is insane!
I applaud the truce of these two groups. These have been major players from the resistance side, and are working out their differences and reaching common ground on them. |
Oh my God, this makes my head hurt. Do you honestly go around picking fights with people when you've never won one before?
1. If you knew me at all, you would realize how absurd it is that you keep labeling me "far left". Considering that I spent time working for a Republican congressman...
2. Criticism? I fail to see how I'm "criticizing" anything but the logic behind using Shia-motivated violence in Iraq as a stepping stone to war with Iran. It's great news that the Shia militias are putting down arms. That's absolutely fantastic news, and will go a long way toward providing some basic level of security in that country. And I think, what you've missed out of all of this, that the real story here is that the Iranian-funded militias have stopped fighting. If we pat them on the back, should we also be applauding their political and financial backers?
3. And as for your implied position that this is happening because of something the US did... well, I failed to see that part in the story.
4. You're too good to post the source of an article? I'm beginning to wonder whether anyone should take you seriously.
5. Now to actually explain to you in concrete terms what my post actually meant, since it went over your head. The Administration made a concerted effort to advocate war with Iran on the basis that they are developing nuclear weapons. The public has not bought this as a casus belli. In fact, public approval for the war in Iran, as Opus has continually noted, is very low. So as of late, the Administration has adapted and changed tactics. Instead, they have painted the Iranian government as a sponsor of terrorist activity in Iraq, citing predominantly al-Sadr's forces attacking US interests in that country. However, one would think, after this development, where al-Sadr is pledging an end to violence, that this casus belli will collapse as well. Which was what my observation stated. Hopefully you are able to understand that now. I apologize for the earlier evident lack of clarity.
