CDJ 800 vs CDJ 800 MK 2

Is there any significant difference between these two?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, the 800mk1 is widely agreed to be far less reliable than the mk2.

Avoid the mk1, go with the mk2.

The platter on the 800 was different as well as the buttons.

Avoid.

I have a pair of MK1's as a backup to my 1200s (obviously when using Serato), and they get the job done if needed, but def go with the MK2's if you can.

Hang on, isn't the major difference that the mk1 won't do mp3 and the mk2 will?

Eh, that is a difference, but I don't think it's major. Most DJs have figured out that MP3 discs are a pain in the ass.

you can find mk1s pretty darn cheap Most of it has been said, the mk2 has metal buttons instead of plastic, the jog tension and feel has been upgraded, led display has been upgraded, and mp3 support. would still consider mk1s to save a lot of monies but if youre willing to pitch out that much you might as well get a mk2 maybe not.
