Deadmau5 bans Marcus Schossow from gig
quote:
So they were both playing in a local club in Oslo where I live last night. A little party I've looked forward to some weeks. I arrived around half an hour before midnight, just in time for the cheaper entrance fee and the horrible welcome drink (According to most people. Luckilly I picked wine)
Throughout the night I learn Deadmau5 had refused to play at all if Marcus was going to play after him as planned.
So it ended up with Marcus not even allowed entrance to the party (instead hanging outside). So that meant Deadmau5 solo from midnight until closing.
Marcus was a big reason I went there. Afterall... it's rare we have names in Norway at all.
I have no words for how much respect I lost for Deadmau5 now, I hope so you see this Joel and realize what a big asshole you are. Who did you think you are? Tiesto?
I don't know anything about the drama (nor do I really want to). However, I think this is a classic situation of where someone might have forgotten it is 'show time'... you set aside your issues, and you do your job. We always say:
"You don't have to like someone to work with them and do your job(s) well."
It's a call to professionalism and 100% delivery to your customer.

In the 330th episode of A State of Trance, Armin van Buuren played the song Deadrat6 - Very Exactly, which is a track made by Marcus Schossow and Maor Levi to joke on Deadmau5's name. At the beginning of the program Armin said "New tunes coming in the next 2 hours by Deadmau5, and I think he's got a little brother because we got a tune by Deadrat6 too." Schossow also wrote "haha, Armin played my Deadrat6 joke" on his MSN Messenger.

I agree with this. You don't always like the people you work with...but you keep in mind it's a job, and you're getting paid to be a professional.

This is a textbook case of getting too big too fast...
It's funny how this just confirms what ppl tell me about Joel's inflated ego...

Schossow is openly gay and has been for about 2 years now. He is currently dating EDM producer and gay adult film star Maor Levi.
