On the other hand, Russian is the 5th most popular language in the world. My mum is Russian too, so it would be alot easier.

As an investment in your future, I would say Mandarin, Japanese, or Indian.
For fun? Russian would be cooler, I reckon.
Edit: Mandarin is considered a FUCKING hard language to learn though. Not that the others would be simple, I guess...
Edit 2: Japanese or Indian then, if you think of them as 'Nips and Currymunchers'
