[Tech House/Album in Progress] The Snark - An Agony in 8 Fits

The Snark
An Agony in 8 Fits

NOTE: links removed for now... pending release!

Fit the First
The Landing | 320kbps | 20.1 MB
Navigation was always a difficult art, though with only one ship and one bell:
And he feared he must really decline, for his part, undertaking another as well.

added October 21, 2008

Fit the Second
The Bellman's Speech | 320kbps | 20.9 MB
The danger was past-- they had landed at last, with their boxes, portmanteus, and bags:
Yet at first sight the crew were not pleased with the view, which consisted of chasms and crags.

added October 21, 2008

Fit the Third
The Baker's Tale | 320kbps | 15.2 MB
There was silence supreme! Not a shriek, not a scream, scarcely even a howl or a groan;
As the man they called "Ho!" told his story of woe in an antediluvian tone.

added January 16, 2009

More to come...

thoroughly enjoyed both man, the bellmans speech is probably the better produced of the two, but the landing is definately my favourite, just needs some more work on the perc to make it stand out...

[obligatory] remix? [/obligatory]

I'll try and put something together for ya. I've actually never had to put together a "remix pack", so should be interesting.

I'd be very interested to see where you go with it, having heard some of your other work and appreciating it.

FL Studio, but don't tell anyone.

nice work. kool dubby tech house. it seems like you were shooting for that vibe anyway. If anything i would introduce more hi-hats and snares in that rhythm section because much of your tracks energy is in the bass/sub bass. keep it up!

Thanks for the review, kind sir. Yeah, I was going for a dubby tech-house vibe with a hint of prog influence. I agree that I could use a few more elements in my rhythm section... especially to enhance the "funkiness" on The Landing.

I am playing at a little festival this Saturday... I might try playing it out to see how it sounds on a big system, assuming the one they have is worth anything.

Very nice work!
The bellmans speech is nice and clicky, I'd still try adding in a bit more of that though. More detail, variation and strange beeps and squeals in the beginning would make it perfect! That bassline is really good too, I'll probably play this out if I may...

The landing is a similar story, a few more incidental noises, more automation and some other minor stuff would go a long way. I love the vocal sample in this, I'm a bit of a sucker for that sort of stuff. I think I might like this one even more, they're both great tracks
