I think we should keep definitions fairly short, even though you could write pages about each one. People tend to gloss over long definitions, but if you give short ones (with some pictures?), I think you could keep people interested.

Also, each definition could link to other relevant definitions and pages with more in-depth info.

That list is good, but I think it would also be cool to have a bunch of short definitions in one place for newbies.

I like the other tutorial, but I think having a "trance dictionary" would help.

Side-chaining - the use of an input signal level to modify another signal.

Exactly - far too many people confuse "ducking" (one use of sidechaining) with the term "sidechaining". Even worse, a lot of people seem to think that it is only used for kick/bass. A dictionary would definitely help clear up that confusion.
