I run a custom built desktop which does me fine I run cubase which i think is more than capable as a daw but for some reason every apple head i talk to tries to convince me otherwise. Im on a music course and use macs and logic 8 all the time but i find it clicky and not as friendly as pc.
People say macs are more stable which is wrong they crash loads my sister is an animator and even she agrees. Because I dont download free smiley packs to my pc every two days my pc runs fine hardly ever crashes.
Macbooks are expensive difficult to upgrade and dont have a right click button???
Yet I read the latest Computer musc and there is some pack of djs i look up to raving about logic and macs and you look at armins webpage and there he is with a mac. My student loan is coming through next week and im gonna buy equipment. Am i missing something shall I just submit and get a mac?

There's your anwer right there. You've had your hands on experience with mac yourself, tell them how you feel. Regardless of what others say it's your experience/workflow that matters, not theirs. If you like PC better then that's just it.
If you've got a pc that's properly configured it works just as well as a mac would.
If less is more think about how much more more would be.

Pro`s mostly use MAC because it is "the best" brand of a computer, and because they can afford it of course.
Imagine Armin on the stage with an ASUS laptop, how wierd would that be?
The difference between the two is the operating system, and you can run Windows on a MAC too.
YEah i know i just thought maybe initially pc owners are resistant to macs but eventually the benefits of having one take over. As yet i havent seen any though wanted the TA's to shed some light on it for me.

I mean are there quality benefits i heard for instance macs have great MOTU driver or Motu have solid drivers for macs rather. I am considering getting a motu. What promted me to ask is the building a producers pc thread where someone said Custom pc > Consumer pc > Mac in terms of quality.
Yet i heard so many at college swear by them my teacher is always saying rich you need a mac for music trust me start using one and you'll find out why. Before i rush out with what little money i have to get a macbook wanted to know if i really needed one.

at the end off the day. from my exsperance win xp is still the best way to go. mainly because the pc is still very user friendly compared to the mac.almost any software you install on to a pc will work. apart from the normal bugs that everbody puts up with . makes the pc a all round better investment.
if you really feal owning a pc with windows and your choice of daw is realy shit. then change.

Works like shit when i did it! But i did it on old dell with 256mb ram and a 80gb HD on a P4 could not get no sound out of it!
Bootcamp or VMware Fusion on a mac i would think be the winnner!

I'm simply stating that he can have both OS X (on a system he already owns) and Windows on the same machine. So he does not need to purchase a new system to use Logic. This will also allow him to just evaluate the software difference on a Mac (in terms of user experience and sound).
