I know deep house/techhouse is TA's 2009 minimal, but in opposition to the aforementioned, I actually like this genre a lot. In fact, it's mainly because of a few mixes I picked up around here that I'm getting more and more into this kind of music. So far I limited myself to listening only, but today I finally took the step to actually make a mix of my own. My deep house repertoire isn't that big (yet) though, so there's a fair amount of older tracks in here as well. But that shouldn't make this mix any less enjoyable. I'm rather satisfied with the end result, as it pretty much captures the sound, vibe and flow I wanted it to have. Just proper chunky and groovy melodic house music. Only the last 30 minutes or so are maybe a bit all over the place, but hey, that's what experiments are for, no?

This was really nice Jasper. Very tight mixing and excellent track selection as per usual. I don't know if I'd call most of this tech or deep house (most of it is progressive house more than anything, even if Beatport says otherwise). The first two transitions especially blew me away! What a solid way to start the mix. A+ yet again!

I don't follow beatport genre definitions, ever.
I agree it's not all deep and techhouse, especially in the last 40 minutes or so. But I for one wouldn't call it progressive house either. Genre restrictions are a bit vague in this type of music, so that's why I later called it:

But glad you liked it, despite the genre nitpicking
Yep, last 40 minutes is EXACTLY what I was thinking. But yea, that wasn't meant to detract from the mix and nor should it. It's an awesome mix and anybody who enjoys house music would do well to listen to it

Yeah I call theses tunes fence sitters. They tend to straddle the line between house, tech, prog and electro without really falling into any one of those categories.
But yeah I'm often puzzled at the way Beatport classify their tunes into genres.
Great mix too mate btw!
