I have Live 8.0 and was wondering if there is a way to export a MIDI file for an entire arrangement rather than just an individual clip. Reason has this option, for example. I know how to export the MIDI of a clip in Live, just not for an entire arrangement at once. Is this possible?
[And yes I have looked in the manual and it says nothing about this, so I am guessing it is not possible...]

Yeah, that sounds right. I have searched the manual and Live's menu options but no luck. That would be pretty screwy if it was unable to export multi-track MIDIs, because it imports them just fine, LOL.

Just did a search and the answer appears to be that you can only export single clips. Ugh. I guess I can export them separately, then import them into Reason, which actually has a proper multi-track MIDI exporting function.

dont currently have a live project in front of me but i remember messing around in the browser window, looking at one of my old project folders and Live had saved all the midi clips as patches (sorta) in the browser.
So maybe you could drag and drop from the browser into reason, or maybe that wouldnt work at all
worth having a look anyway
unfortunatly live doesn't give you the ability to group midi clips into one master. logic, cubase etc all have the ability to save 5 midi tracks into one ".mid" file and when someone else opens it, all 5 tracks go into their own channels. not available for live 7 or less, not sure if live 8 has it, i'll try when i get in the studio
