That was in-fucking-sane. For a night where originally I wasn't supposed to go and then was on the fence, man am I glad I made it. The music the entire night was amazingly good. We were on the the first ones there thinking Carlo was opening (for some reason) and instead got to jam to a really good opening set by Alicia Hush. I've never seen this girl spin before, but I really enjoyed her style. She played perfectly for the opener, bringing it up a level when the club started filling up and more people made their way to the dance floor. Carlo Lio was, well, Carlo Lio. Amazing as always. This guy seriously knows how to get people going. Paul came on at around, I guess 1ish? Maybe a bit after? I'm not sure. This was ridiculous...he started out with Karumba (and DIDN'T play the siren sound over a couple tracks like he did in one of his live PA sets thank the lord, so my head didn't explode. This track is amazing but that one sound gets on my nerves, so I was glad I could enjoy it last night.) and the rest of his set just got better and better. It was probably impossible to be standing in Footwork last night and NOT dancing up a storm. Didn't stay long enough afterward to catch Jamie Kidd and Lee Osbourne.
Oh and lol @ the 4-5 guys dressed up like they were going to a ragtime cabaret that climbed on the speakers at the front. I don't think Paul knew what to do with the one guy pointing directly in his face.
Anyways, I found his set fantastic and this party in its entirety a success. Everyone was absolutely loving life.

FUCK YOU FOOTWORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...
....for throwing better parties week after week!! Give me a god damn break already
Honestly, FW is hands down the best nightclub (IMO) in toronto, it never ceases to impress me. Coupled with Platform's amazing booking capabilities/strengths, you have a recipe for musical onslaught!
Got in just before midnight to Alicia Hush doing her thing, shes a master at the decks, so composed and lays it out thick! Carlo came on and set the pace, last few tracks leading into Paul Ritch were
The man comes on, what a fucking intro!! I usually don't care for long, played out, sometimes boring dj intros but WOW I thought it definately set the tone for the night and I felt he was telling us "you guys are in for a ride (and a half)!". Can't go wrong with Karumba ever
From start to finish, his mixing was SPOT ON, meticulous, like fucking art work, every little detail was thoroughly executed. Mastermind. He took us on a melodic/progressive/techno journey and left us begging for more at the end.
Seeing carlo and cam maxwell eating up the tunes behind the dj booth; eyeballing the monitor while Paul was deep into the mix was definately a sight for sore eyes.
FW last night had a vibe I've never experienced before, and that's what I LOVE about this club. I don't get this feeling at any other club (well, other than stereo). That was a "true party vibe", a serious party, a wild party, musical bliss.
Ok Im gonna stop here cuz my mind is still buzzing and I could go on and on about it but lets just say it was amazing and i hope his set was recorded!!
