I first had an F11 and later got an F31fd (still my main P&S cam). The Fuji's after the F31fd (F40, F50) went to a higher mega-pixel, but smaller, sensor and did not have the performance of the F31fd (at the time I had to pay more for my used F31fd off Ebay than F40's were going for new).
I would check dpreview.com and dcresource.com to see what they say about the cameras' high ISO performance. Canon was never a leader in this area before but things may have changed. I understand from some brief checking that the latest Fuji's (F200xxx) are back to using some large sensors.

Still using my F30 (thanks, Greg!) but looking to upgrade soon. Would love to zoom during videos, have HD, no mic. clipping, superior low light shots and remarkable battery life. In short, I just want it all, and for less than $300.
