Stu Cox's Spring Mixtape.......... (immersive house + whimsical tidbits)
If you're from Upsidedown Land (Oz, NZ or somewher like that), be a good fellow and replace the word "Spring" with "Autumn" every time it crops up below. I'm sorry for your loss... we've just had a shit winter, I hope yours isn't too depressing!
It's officially Spring... I've got a Mixtape to prove it.
This is probably a bit proggier than people are used to hearing from me on here, but it's still fairly representative of how I play out. There's a bit of an odd selection of things in there, but I think it works.
AND I've slipped in a little sneak preview of my new tune "Quort" which I finished recently... so go and buy a lottery ticket 'cause it looks like it's your lucky week! (There's a longer clip on my SoundCloud page if you give a flying fuck)
Here is the all-important list of tracks....
01. Exile Of Silence - Triumph
02. Til Yali - Disasters One
03. Alexander Kowalski - Puesta De Sol
04. Fain - Aurora Borealis
05. Clevz - Trim Pack
06. Rob Nujnes - Electronic Love [Cocoon Mix]
07. Jordan Ewane - Rewired
08. Pole Folder - Hate Myself [Sasha Remix]
09. Daniel Portman - Baaly
10. NOP - Cubic Loop [D-Nox & Beckers Remix]
11. Christian Fischer - Payload
10. Shifter & Carvell - A Dark Distance [Original Mix]
11. Sono - Keep Control Plus [Fedde Le Grande Mix]
12. Stu Cox - Quort
13. 601 - Plasmatic State
14. Freeland - Under Control [Evil Nine Graveyard Smash Instrumental]
15. Joey Beltram - The Sub-bass Experience
16. Mladen Tomic - June Tune
17. Paul Morena - Green Line
18. Kiko - Material Mode [Kiko's Original Mix]
19. Pimp Pomp Pump - Pimp's Love [Antipop Rework]
So slap it on, work that volume knob up to MAX and ignore your neighbours banging on the wall. Jumbo.
Click on the bit of retro audio paraphernalia above to visit my little minisite and download it.
OR you can hit it up on SoundCloud if you prefer....
Being that we had somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 snowstorms in a week, I'm finding it hard to accept all this "Spring" business. But, I'll definitely hit it up regardless.
Also, amusing post, Stu.

Haha yeah, maybe it's a bit early. But it's also a bit too late for a Winter mix, so what's a man to do...?

Got through the first 3 tracks on the way to work this morning.
Man that first track is an evil snarling animal of a thing. It's the sort of track that you always hear when you are in the queue outside trying to get in only to make it to the dance floor and have the Dj drop some cheesy vocal rubbish.
Will report on the rest once finished.

Mate.. What can I say ?
Has pro written all over it. Great choice of tracks and energy ebbs and flows. Could never go out and hear this in my neck of the woods.
What minute is your track on as I could not be sure??

Thanks fella, means a lot. I've always thought there can be a bit of a margin between a good mix and one that sounds really pro - so the fact that you think I've hit it with this one is really good.
Although actually the two things are probably mutually exclusive - some pro sets you hear (which do have all the 'pro' qualities) are boring as fuck!
My track comes in at 44 mins (big bassline, then breakdowny bit with dark strings) - although I've just been reworking it a bit, the latest version (as of 5 mins ago) is here: http://soundcloud.com/stucoxmusic/quort-clip. I think I've made it a little bit 'nicer' than the version on that mix, slightly more of a rolling prog track but still with a dark edge.

Dear Stu,
Fucking awesome mix there, mate. Really FAT sounding tunes, and lots of energy. Reminds me of some of the music I used to listen to a few years ago.
Will be listening again, and checking out your future mixes. Got any others like this one?
Hope you do.
Kind regards,
Stu.
I dunno why I feel the need to write posts in your thread in this fashion. I blame the beer, and the fact that you're another Stu.
