Beatport stage was like a staple for my techno diet. No matter what time I went there someone was ripping it up. Hawtin's three hour set to close saturday was pretty intense. Drumcode got shutdown early due to a shootout and police chase through downtown. I was at Blue Collar and it packed up pretty good once they shut all of the other clubs down because of the shootout. Need I Say More can't really be put into words. The TV Bar was absolutely ridiculous with Shit Show. I'm not sure I have ever been to a party with people more mangled than that.

Ya TV bar was a fucking blast. I'll definitely go there every year from here on out. Same thing with old miami. Those two places werea lot of fun, but then again I love day raves. They tend to get really out of control.

My Review...
Detroit is crazy insane like usual.. We stayed at the St Regis with some other TA's (J_Love, BigSnail).. The location didn't lend itself to easy access to events but for the price you couldn't beat it..
Friday Night was Yel which Speedy J ripped the mainroom apart at St Andrews Hall.. In the Shelter, Lee Curtiss played an awesome live set.. Birds and Souls was Amazing.. Seth/Ryan/Matt all went back to back for an epic night but there was no A/C so it was rediculously hot.. Im suprised they didn't have anyone die.. It was a cross between putting your turntables in the oven in the locker room..
Saturday at the Festival Ida killed the beatport stage.. Jamie threw downhis always amazing atmosphere.. Paco ripped the top of the tent. Marco Carola was a fucking beast in the Movement Torino stage.. and Claude Von Stroke took over BP to kill with his big festival hits.. Plastikman was an experience in itself with insane visuals but the crowd had less energy then expected..
Saturday Night was Detek/Blue Collar which we got there just in time to see Konrad Black melting minds in the Front Room, while Justin Martin and Claude Von Stroke did it dirty.. Seth came on for an epic set the destroyed the backroom and Bruno Pronsato killed it with his live set..
.. after a brief stop back at the hotel we hit up Shit Show just in time for Reeves and Crosson playing there nasty grooves as Visionquest.. Ceaser Merville came on next to bring his Cadenza flair to the already cooking outside patio at TV Lounge.. Next Le Loup from Wolf+Lamb came on to spin a groovy funky and deep set to segway into the duo Soul Clap spinning to funky big house to get the crowd going crazy..
Sunday we slept a bit to get rest and got to the festival in time for Richie Hawtin closing Beatport stage with some of the nastiest funking techno which had the huge crowd going insane.. lots of organic elec-tech which carried itself on to the Voyage Royale which employed Cassy, Richie and Marco Carola back2back for 5 hours while DJ Sneak, Agoria, Mirko Loko, Carl Craig, and Stacey Pullen kept the sound moving on the other levels..
Monday morning was the most epic as usual with my second visit to Old Miami.. This year was a much better feel then last.. the party didn't have as many people early in the day but filled up as time went on.. Masomenos played one of the best sets of the weekend spinning a lush groovy beat which was perfect for the early morning atmosphere.. As rain lingered around... Matt Tolfrey took the decks to amp the party to 100.. dropping some huge insane ch00ns having the crowd go crazy.. He was followed up by Dear and Elliott which brought the festival down a little with a more minimal sound.. They kept the party going all night but we opted to head over to the festival to catch Italoboyz ending their madness followed by doP with there live theatrics.. Caught a little of Moritz Von Oswald trio which was playing an anticlimatic ambient set but it was a perfect precursor for Koze to ensue madness of some rabid fans on the Red Bull stage.. as the rain started to really pour.. we headed over to Beatport to catch Joel Mull playing his signature hypnotic Drumcode techno making the small crowd whirl into a frenzy.. by this time it was raining so hard we decided to call our festival day quits..
I decided to drag myself for one more epic event which I'm glad I did.. Hot Natured is always one of the best parties anywhere and Detroit is no exceptions.. Lee, Jamie, Eli, and Charlie all went back2back spinning nothing but the best disco and groovy dance tunes while Droog and Art Department beat on the walls inside..
What an epic weekend just like every year and I can't wait to do it all again...
