MS Outlook question(could be another email client program)
Let's say I have tons of email I want to separate by folders based on lets' say the 1. From, 2. Subject heading, etc...
Can I have mail directly sent to those folders. In this case I created the folders based on the Subject" and had the mail sent directly to them.
My Inbox before setup without folders
(1)John,basketball
(2)Mark,baseball
(3)Eric,basketball
(4)Lisa,baseball
My inbox after my setup(direct sent to these folders)
Folder1[basketball]
(1)John,basketball
(3)Eric,basketball
Folder2[baseball]
(2)Mark,baseball
(4)Lisa,baseball
Update: I know it won't be full proof like the day I get a new subject heading or new from but from typical everyday emails that comes alot from those folders I would setup

You just need to set up a forwarding rule for each address or subject line. Something like "If sender is x, forward to y folder." Very easy.

So logic is involved. I did logic in HS, took a c++ class and even know of and,or,nor gates/switches but am I skilled at using it . Its MS so I guess if I can figure out conditional formatting in excel I can do this.

Yeah it's really very simple. Forwarding rules are really easy to figure out. You don't really need to know anything about logic to set them up.

Will take a look at this tm. I figured out how to forward my aol mail and another accout into seperate inboxs so I will be on top of this. I file away alot of stuff each week and we do get repetitive stuff based on name and subject heading so this can't hurt to figure out and use.

have you looked at e-mail filters? you can have the filters move the mail to your folders.

another idea...Will look into as well
AOL uses filters for the spam folder which works for unknown email address. If I figure that concept for my own personal folders then thats the ticket.

I found one solution..
1. Tools--->Rules and Alerts
2. Email rules tab
3a. new rules
3b. Select one based on(move from someone to a folder, move from keywords in subject heading to a folder, etc, and even flag messages
3c. I select 'keyword in subject' from part b and then at the bottom it ask for edit for those specific words and specific folder which you choose.
3d. hit next and see if you missed anything
3d. Select finish
did a test email and it showed up in inbox for a milisecond and right to the folder I told it in part 3.
only drawback I see is if you have the email sent to a folder inside another folder then you might not know if you received a new message for example the (1) that appears in the folder you sent it to.
