So as you all know, I'm moving. There are a few apartment buildings around the University which have openings. What do you all think of Sherbourne/Wellesley Area and Parliament St. by the Cemetery. Does anyone actually live around there. Also another area I'm looking at is Jameson/King but that's a little bit farther. Any input you can share please do.

well i know the area of sherbourne and parliment is pretty bad... depending on who you ask
a friend of mine lives over there, and one night i crashed at his house and we heard gunshots, the next day we saw on the news that some girl was shot in the head, on his street...
so i'm not too fond of that area...

i actually live down near the king/dufferin area (east of jameson) and while it looks like shit over there, its really not too bad. i havent ever had any bad experiences.

I knew that moving to Toronto would be a nightmare.
I bet the apartments that are available are vacant cuz of someone being shot and killed.
Maybe I'll just live in Brampton or something like that. Now I am considering living in Etobicoke or Scarborough but it has to be close to the meteo.

alot of these places are better then people make them out to be..
like parkdale (king/dufferin/jameson).. i feel totally safe there. and i know a few people that live right in there and actually have a really nice townhouse on a somewhat quiet street...

i think you'll enjoy living downtown MUCH more, especially if you're going to school.

best way is to go and check these places out in person and make your own judgements

yea, i have to agree with finary... that area is fucked... stay away from there... jane/st. clair is much better, but is far from uoft, it'd take you hours by ttc to go to university everyday... unless you're driving?
