Well here i am today chatting on the hub, and all of a sudden me and some of the other people are talking about how trance is getting worse instead of better and i get this idea. basically i talked to bizz about it but since he is not working for the site but is just the operator of the hub he said for me that it's ok to post a topic. and maybe talk to swamper i tried talking to him on the hub but he wasn't there i guess. so here i am posting this... so i'll get to the point...

a tranceaddict.com newsletter. ok my idea at first for this was for this newsletter to just have weekly new releases of trance and maybe if possible other electronic genres of music. cuz people really like to see what's new. maybe we can have single track new releases and good album releases that are new. maybe new live sets. the whole deal. the only thing that i am not sure about is the people high up on tranceaddict.com and the hub have access to this kind of info. if they do well than we should do this newsletter. + i personally am good at graphics so if anyone is needed to design and compose the newsletter i can do it even if the people who get the release info don't want to or can't too well. i am even willing to pay 10 bucks or something for this... and i think others would chip in it too depending on the quality of information in the newsletter. i know i know we can find new release info on the forums themselves but it's not always reliable deffineetly and not all the new releases are talked about or anything + the newsletter would be very easy to use since all you would have to do is sign up and then weekly you'd get it or something. maybe after the first couple issues we can have some feedback and see what people liked disliked and other comments. well please read this everyone and vote and tell us why you think this is a good idea and you want it and vice versa, whether you'd pay if you can help out and everything basically. so if the ops the high up people want to talk to me pm me or e-mail (better to e-mail) me at [email protected] i can deffinetly and would love to do some designing and composing for the newsletter i just would need the info to put in the newsletter from others cuz i am just a 14 year old guy living in ottawa, canada. lol. well write back everyone and comment and vote in the poll thank you. bye!

this was all done before (sorry), swamper set this up, got everyone to give him their email, but never sent any out! lol! he basically said that he'll send one when he finds enough stuff to write about. But swmaper is constantly working on the site and never finds enough time to work on the site. So (ill be corrected if im wrong) chose to spend the time on the site rather than research everything that would go in a newsletter that people can do themselves. Everyone can keep up with all the latest news by using news sites like www.ivibes.nu, www.trance.nu, things like that, by using all the sites in the trance network people can stay upto-date.

While a newsletter is a good idea, its a very time consuming, and as anyone who can be bothered can keep up with news, it never happened. Instead swampers time gets spent improving the site which only he can do.

If thats all bollox then swamper will correct it all and make me look 2" tall.

ok thanks for the info man..too bad i could've done the newsletter if only someone told me what to write...but oh well..

i think that if there was someone who could do it, then it would be great. not saying that swamper can't, he's too busy to concern himself with that. i think it's a good idea

Yeah mate, I think that's a wonderful idea, however, I believe that's not up to Swamper (he's already busy with everything else).

yea i, for one, would find a biweekly (or even weekly!) new releases newsletter extremely helpful, but that takes an awful lot of devotion -- not to write the newsletter, but to hunt down new releases. couple years back i published computer newsletter for 4 months, then i somehow lost motivation, even though the feedback was largely positive.

but i'm sure a lot of us could bother to post new releases on a weekly basis, on the Music Discussion forum. how about we go from that, and post newsletters on a dedicated forum? a lot of us would like to post new releases and trance scene news there -- it's a healthy way to up your post counts, after all.
