First off, welcome back, good to see you post here again John.
Slightly off topic but you'll notice a lot of oldschool people are back and it has somewhat to do with the fact the trolling is/will be stopping as it was getting out of hand.
On topic, It's really a case of change your clap; if ever you're really struggling to make a sound fit in it's usually just more efficient to switch it out to something you like and that works better.
I'm on crappy laptop speakers here at work so I can't hear that much but if might be the balance of reverb to dry signal. You can place things "above" or "back" in the mix by increasing the wet vs dry balance and I think that may be your issue. I don't know how you have your sends/inserts set up but you may want to ease back on the wet balance or even layer a dry double over the top, then compress the two together.
