Your ISP usually give you a free one, theres loads of NNTP accounts out there , i pay for mine, as i get over 44,000 newsgroups , with nice download speeds , www.usenetserver.com

umm.. except that ISP's newsgroups are (in 99% of cases) either:

a) unmaintained crapshit with retention rate so low you won't find it funny

b) supermaintained crapshit with all the groups that are of interests not being kept on the server....
