What are the biggest 'What If's in dance music history?
What if Tiesto didn't leave trance?
What if Twilo didn't close in 2001?

What if Xpander had sucked?
What if Weston never left The Orb?
What if Madonna hired Juno Reactor instead of William Orbit?

That one got a guffaw out of me, I'll admit. I'd like to live in whichever dimension of the multiverse where this is reality.

This is about as close to experiencing that realm as we're likely to get in our Earth 1:

What if electronic music actually took off went mainstream in the US in the 90s during that whole "electronica" push that MTV and the radio tried?
What if Philip Sherburne decided not to go into the music press and instead became an accountant or something?
What if nobody participated in Disco Demolition Night?

Regardless of Giuliani, I feel clubs in NY have a pretty short (a few years at most) shelf life. Either due to the fickle taste of NYers, sleazy owners, or overzealous real estate developers. Twilo closed down in May 2001, a few months before 9/11, but I feel the changing mood and attitude of NYers following that tragedy would have inevitably caused it to close soon after.
