This is a very well written article I just came across. It is very inspirational for American Djs. The article discusses electronic music and the american culture, what is is now, and what it's future will be like.

i really think they should make documentaries about this kind of stuff and show electronic music for what it really is rather than making documentaries about drugs and how they are all related to electronic music. this just makes everyone who listens to house, trance, techno etc etc seem like a crackhead.

What an interesting article. A very good read, thsnkd got the link. Definitley something to show to people that you are closed minded about trance and don't understand what you get from it, maybe that will be something they can understand. All in all, good read

Yea that was a great article. The author made some really good points.
Im really glad he brought up the point comparing DJs and rock stars in how clubbers would go to shows and listen to music by artists that they dont get to see. Although his point was stated as a flaw in electronica in America, i see it as a good thing. I think too many artists are getting away with successful careers because of their looks and not entirely on their musical talent. There are too many out there to list. In electronica, success is based solely on musical skill and creativity and thats what its suppose to be in the music industry. Not on how bleached your hair is, how tig your bitties are, how tight your jeans are, or how high you can do "david lee rot" kicks. Thats why they say when you go clubbing, its truly all about the music and it still is . . . . . unless its DJ Rap, shes a hottie.
good article!

Very nicely put, I really enjoy reading these articles and also agree that more documentaries should be produced about this, or are there that exist already?
