Ok guys. im stuck.. i wanna buy a pair of decks.. but people keep tellin me to buy cd turntables.... like denons..
But i reaaalllly love the art.. and it is an art.. of spinnin.. and feelin the vinyl in my hands...
But i have a huuuuuuuuge archive of trance/tech/progressive. like around 5000 tracks.. and im like.. i can just buy a cd turntable and play all my fave tunes... but if i buy decks... i can enjoy spinnin.. but to a very limited number of vinyl... * i gotta start from scratch *
SO.... what should i do... and i do wanna buy cd turntables... whats a good one to buy???

Hello!

cd turntables are only good if you're a moble dj
if it's just a hobby thing, go with vynil
i gotta buy some cd decks because the company i dj for only uses cd's, we own turntables though if a dj has his own vynil

i've already tried hookin up my pc to my stereo system... its all good.. but u end up like using mp3 programs... dont wanna do that... the only thing pushing my decision towards the cd decks are that i have a million traxx i know i wouldnt find or afford on vinyl.. can u imagine id have to start from purrrrrre scratch.. like id spend 500 bucks on vinyls and i still wouldnt have a fraction of the traxx i like.... HMMMmmmmmmmmm...... Very disturbing...
BUT I WANT DECKS!!>. AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Well if you like DJing by twiddling with little buttons then get CD decks (speaking of which, Pioneer came out with a really nice unit ... http://www.pioneerprodj.com/product...000/cdj1000.htm - too bad it costs over CAN$1800. )

Otherwise just bite the bullet, get a pair of turntables and start being a vinyl junkie, like every normal person .

Well, this is huge discussion point...

MY point of view is: they're both good, and mixing is never easy... it takes a lot of practice and years and years to become a great DJ...

Be Cool!

well this debate has been going on for a while i personaly use both vinyl and cd decks at every show i dont find one better than the other there just different, so i feel you should get what you want because in the end there for YOUR enjoyment and if other ppl enjoy it also then thats extra so if you feel that you are going to enjoy cd decks because you have way more cds than vinyl then get cd decks youll enjoy them more, you should always get what you WANT and not what you think the scene dictates. get what makes you happy and enjoy

Hello!

i like the sound of vynil
if you find a good press, the lows and highs sound cleaner than on cd

i also liek that vynil is easier to manipulate
youcan physically nudge the platter to get your beats matched
but with the cd jog wheel, you don't know exactly how far the cd is moving
